Manufacturers are increasingly adopting optical inspection technologies to capture the shape and appearance of the surface of objects. There are many choices in optical inspection equipment. How do you select the most appropriate solution?
Join us as we host an event on Optical Inspection Technologies with an emphasis on applications in manufacturing.
Optical inspection systems capture and record a digital representation of the geometry of the surface of an object. Captured geometry can then be compared to design specifications to determine conformity of the part.
Mark Weatherburn and Matthew Kaeding of FARO Technologies will be presenting information and providing demonstrations of a variety of 3D shape capture technologies. Technology we’ll see includes:
- Combination blue laser and hard probe, the FARO QuantumS with FAROBlu (Quantum ScanArm)
Digitize simple features with the arm’s hard probe and seamlessly scan across diverse surface materials regardless of contrast, reflectivity, or part complexity without any special coatings or target placement.
- Metrology-grade non-contact scanner, the FARO Cobalt Array Imager
Non-contact shape capture that can be used anywhere inspection is needed, including the factory floor.
- Virtual templating with the FARO TracerM Laser Projector
A projected laser guide which operators and assemblers can use to quickly and accurately position components.
- Hand held laser scanner, the FARO Freestyle3D Objects scanner
A medium volume handheld 3D Laser Scanner that can work with or without artificial targets.
Mark Weatherburn: From Eriksdale, Manitoba, Mark has been the Western Canadian Technical Sales Rep for Faro for over 4 years. He is an Electrical Engineering Tech, Graduating from Red River College in 1998.
Matthew Kaeding: Originally from Saskatchewan, Matthew has been with Faro for 1 year and has an Aerospace Engineering background.
